Onboarding and offboarding might not always be front and center, but they make a big difference in how people see your company. A smooth, well-organized process helps set the right tone—whether you're welcoming a new hire or sending someone off on a positive note.
With the right setup, you can automate tasks and make sure every employee has a seamless, consistent experience from start to finish.
Start with Task Templates
Before setting up onboarding and offboarding tasks, make sure you’ve created the necessary task templates. If you haven’t done this yet, check out Step 1: Create a Task Template to get started.
A great onboarding experience is key for new hires—it gives them a glimpse of your company culture and reassures them that they made the right choice.
First impressions matter, and a well-organized onboarding process helps you stay on top of everything that needs to be done before their first day.

- From here, click the + Add button.
- A pop-up will appear with all the relevant onboarding task templates you've created automatically selected in the Relevant Tasks section. Select the tasks you need, then click Apply.

Offboarding tasks lets you keep track of all tasks that need to be completed when an employee leaves your company. You can delegate tasks to the offboarding employee, their manager, or any other person in the company to ensure a flawless offboarding experience.
You can also manage any incomplete tasks by sending out "Reminders" to assignees.
