To add an employee to Time Tracking, follow the steps below:
- In Time Tracking, under Settings, scroll down to the Assigned Employees section.
- Click the Add or Remove Employees button
- In the pop-up, select the employee(s) you’d like to add
- Click the Save button to add them to Time Tracking!
At least one admin must be assigned to Time Tracking at all times.
At least one admin must have full access to Time Tracking. This ensures that Humi can send important notifications to someone on your team as needed. When setting up Time Tracking for the first time, add yourself or another admin to the module so everything runs smoothly for your team.

There are three approval flows available for projects:
- Project Owner(s) Approval - The Project Owner approves hours
- Direct Manager Approval - The employee’s direct manager approves hours
- Automatic Approval - Hours are automatically approved when entered
Yes! To help keep your team on track, you can set a weekly deadline for timesheet submissions. This deadline can be set at any hour of the day or week and will serve as the deadline for submitting logged hours and approvals.
- To get started, head to Time Tracking and click on the Settings tab
- In the Deadline & Reminders section, click on the Edit button
- Select the Yes toggle to enable a Weekly Deadline and choose a day and time. By default, the deadline is set to Friday at 5 PM EST.
When you enable a Weekly Deadline, Humi will also add a Reminder to help keep everyone accountable. This reminder will be sent out via email and as a notification in the Humi inbox for each member of your team when their Weekly Deadline is approaching.
By default, this reminder is set to 1 day before your weekly deadline, but you can set it to whenever you’d like.

Yes! Employees can log hours up to 90 days in advance, making it easy to plan vacations or pay ahead of schedule.
How To Enable Future Timesheet Submissions
- Head over to Time Tracking and then click on the Settings tab.
- Within the General Settings section, hit the Edit button.
- Scroll down to the Track Future Hours section and select "Yes."
- Next, choose the number of days ahead employees can submit their timesheets. You can select any number from 1 to 90 days.
- Don't forget to click Save to apply your changes.
You're all set! With this feature enabled, your employees can now effortlessly input their hours in advance, making your job easier.

Yes! Hours added in Time Tracking will automatically be added to the payroll once you set up the integration. For a step-by-step guide to do this, click here.
To ensure your success, there are a few important things to note:
- Employees added to the integration must be synced to payroll. To learn how to add an employee to Payroll, click here.
- Salaried employees won’t have their regular hours sent to payroll, but selected additional hourly compensations can be sent to payroll. To learn about additional compensation types, click here.
- All adjustments to your employees’ time tracking data will still be managed in the Time Tracking module. To learn how to manage Time Tracking, click here.
You can create a project in the Time Tracking Module and assign employees to it. This allows you to monitor the time spent on each task and helps ensure that employees stay accountable and on schedule.

Time Tracking Reports provide a simple and effective way to view and export data from the Time Tracking Module.
