Humi offers two ways to submit Records of Employment (ROE) to Service Canada. Your submission path depends on whether Humi has been authorized as your third-party filer.
- Option 1 - Automatic Submission: The fastest way to file, handled directly within the Humi interface.
- Option 2 - Manual Submission: For teams who prefer to upload their own XML files to the ROE Web portal.
Tip
Save time by setting up automatic ROE submissions. Learn how in the "Setting Up ROE Web Authorization" section.

Don't see the button?
If you don't see a Submit ROE button when you've completed the ROE, it means that Humi isn't currently authorized to submit ROEs on your behalf. In this case, you must follow the steps outlined below for Option 2.
If a submitted ROE needs amendment, please contact support. You'll need to provide the employee ROE and mention the fields that need to be amended.
If Humi is not authorized to submit on your behalf, you must manually submit the ROE on ROE Web.
- In Payroll, click on the Records dropdown and select ROEs
- Click on the most updated ROE created for the employee (this will be the last one if you issued more than one)
- From here, click on the three dots in the top right corner and select Download from the dropdown. This will automatically start the download process for an XML file that contains the ROE information
- Log in to ROE Web, go to the ROE main page and upload through the web service.
- For additional assistance, you can contact the Employer Contact Centre.
To allow Humi to file Records of Employment (ROE) on your company’s behalf, your company's signing officer must complete and upload the ROE Web Authorization Form (available in-app).

Step 1. Locate the Authorization Section

Step 2. Download and Sign the Form

- Click Download ROE Consent Form.
- Have an authorized signing officer fill out the form. Ensure you include:

- A valid signature.
Step 3. Complete the Declaration and Upload
Before uploading, you must confirm your previous payroll status to ensure there is no overlap in reporting.
- After completing the form, go back to the Authorization Documents section (Payroll > Payroll Setup > Authorization Documents and scroll to "Set up Humi to Submit Records of Employment”).
-
Complete the declaration:
- “I have processed my last payroll with my previous payroll provider.”

- Click Upload Signed Form and select the completed document from your computer.
Important: Humi cannot issue ROEs for pay periods that occurred before your onboarding date.
What Happens Next?

The authorization process is managed entirely by Service Canada and typically takes up to 22 business days. We will notify you as soon as the authorization is finalized.
