Setting up your Indeed integration with Humi creates a connection from Humi to Indeed. This connection enables the job posting information entered in Humi to automatically be sent to Indeed and create a new job post on their platform.
Since there are two sides to this connection, if there's an issue, the problem can either be from Humi or from Indeed.
After there are two known issues that you may run into with the Indeed integration:
Scenario #1 – You've created the job posting in Humi, but there's no job post on Indeed
Scenario #2 – Limited job post visibility on Indeed
To find out which side the error is on and where to reach out to for support, there are a few things you can check in Humi before contacting Indeed. If the problem persists after checking everything in Humi, you'll know that the error is from Indeed's side.
This article will explain how to troubleshoot problems with the Indeed integration.
Indeed integration troubleshooting tips
Step 1: Check the integration is set up correctly in Humi
Before reaching out to Indeed for assistance, there are a few things you can do in Humi to ensure everything is working correctly on our side:
- Check your "Settings" to see if the Indeed integration has been set up correctly
- Check the job posting date
- Check the job post information
Check your "Settings" to see if the Indeed integration has been set up correctly in Humi
In "Settings," click on the "Integrations" tab and check the Indeed section.
If it says "Connected" we know that the integration is completed and should be working.
If you see the black "Connect" button, follow these instructions to set up your Indeed Integration.
Check the job posting date
In "Recruiting," under the "Job Postings" tab, check the "Date Created" column to see the date the job post was created.
If the job posting is more than one month old, the job link may no longer be live on Indeed. If this is the case, create a newly updated job posting.
Check the job post information
1. In "Recruiting," click on the job posting, then click the "Information" tab.
2. In the "Posting Information" section check that there is a "Posting link" and that the "Status" is "Active."
3. Scroll down to the "Job board integration" section and check that the Indeed integration switch is toggled on (green).
In this section, under the "Posting Link" column, there should be an "Open Link," which is hyperlinked to Indeed. If this is here, the job posting has been sent to Indeed through Humi's API feed but there's an issue on Indeed's side of the connection.
Scenario #1 - No job post on Indeed
You created a new job posting in Humi, and in the "Job Board Integrations" section (Recruiting > Job posting > Information > Job Board Integrations), there's a live hyperlink connected to the "Open Link." However, when clicked, there's no job post on Indeed, and you get an error like below:
After checking all of the above in Humi, if your post is still not showing on Indeed, we can now confirm that the problem is from Indeed's side because the URL connected on the "Open Link" in Humi is an "Indeed URL."
Since it's not working correctly, you must submit a ticket to Indeed. You can use this link to submit a ticket to Indeed.
Important note
Indeed may reply by saying the issue is that Humi isn't sending "XML" feeds; however, please note that Humi doesn't work on "XML" feeds. We only use "API" feeds.
If you've followed the steps to check the Indeed integration is set up correctly outlined earlier in this article, you've already confirmed that Humi's API feeds are being sent to Indeed. Hence, the issue is on Indeed's side of the connection.
Scenario #2 – Limited job post visibility on Indeed
You created a new job posting in Humi, and in the "Job Board Integrations" section (Recruiting > Job posting > Information > Job Board Integrations), there's a live hyperlink connected to the "Open Link."
When you click on "Open Link," it takes you to an Indeed job post page; however, it's not found when you manually search for the job posting on Indeed. Typically, this means that Indeed is limiting your job post visibility.
There can be various reasons for this, and only Indeed can advise what needs to be done for your job post to be visible.
We suggest logging in to your Indeed account to check if there are any messages about why this could be blocked.
If there are no messages, use this link to submit a ticket to Indeed.
