Understanding the "Vacation Pay" balances on your Paystub

If you're unsure how much vacation pay you've already used or earned, you can easily find this information on your pay stub under the "Vacation Pay" header near the bottom of your paystub.

Understanding "Vacation Pay" balances


Prior Balance - this shows your vacation pay balance as of your last paystub, plus any adjustments made since the last paystub. 

Spent - this is the total of all vacation pay used in the current pay period.

Accrued - this is the amount of vacation pay you earned since your last pay period.

Balance - this is your balance at the end of the pay period. It includes the "Prior Balance" minus "Spent" plus the "Accrued" amounts.
