How to Edit or Delete a Time Off Type

After creating a few Time Off Types, you may realize that you no longer need some of them or need to make changes to existing ones. If you're wondering how to edit or delete a Time Off Type, you're in the right place.

 

Before Making Changes

Adjustments to your Time Off Types may impact various other parts of Humi. Before making any changes, be sure to read through the information below:

  • Any changes saved will take effect immediately.
  • Some changes will have an immediate impact on accruals across the system.
    For example, changing units (days vs hours) will immediately change the units used for that Time off type everywhere in Humi.
  • The only field that can't be edited is “Hours Per Day”.
    If you need to update this field, you'll need to create a new Time Off type with the correct Hours Per Day and delete this one.
  • Changing the “Paid Time Setting” may have more severe implications if you use Humi Payroll. 
    We recommend contacting Humi support to confirm before making any changes.
  • Deleting a Time Off Type is a permanent action that will remove all the data associated with the Type.
    This action can’t be undone and the data can’t be recovered. This will irreversibly delete all requests, policies, assignments (past and present), and adjustments in the system for all employees on this Time Off Type.

 

How to Edit a Time Off Type

  1. In Time Off, click on the Time Off Policies tab.
  2. Find the Time Off Type that you want to edit, and click the three dots in the upper-right corner.
  3. Select Edit Type from the dropdown menu.
  4. On the following screen, make your changes.
  5. When you’re ready, click Save.
  6. Your changes will take effect immediately and be visible across Humi.

 

How to Delete a Time Off Type

  1. In Time Off, click on the Types & Policies tab.

  2. Find the Time Off type you want to delete, and click the three dots next to the + Create Policy button.

  3. Select Delete Type from the dropdown menu.

  4. Confirm you want to delete the Time Off type by clicking the Delete button in the pop-up.

  5. The Time Off Type is deleted, and Humi will remove all data associated with it.

Deleting data is permanent

Deleting a Time Off Type will irreversibly delete all requests, policies, assignments (past and present), and system adjustments for all employees on this Time Off Type. This can’t be undone.
