Time Tracking makes approving employee hours easy with simple workflows built right into Humi! This article will go over how to manage and approve timesheet records for both projects and unique hour entries.
How to Approve All Pending Hour Entries
- In Time Tracking, under the Timesheet Approval tab, you’ll find a list of all the hours logged by employees that you’re assigned to oversee
- In the Status column, all hour entries that are Pending Approval will show at the top of the list with a Pending status
- If you’re happy with the details of every one of the entries, you can easily approve them all at once by clicking the Approve All button in the top right of the table
- In the pop-up, confirm that you would like to bulk approve the time entries by clicking Approve All
- You’re done! The entries will now show an Approved status and filter down the list to help keep things organized
How to Approve Individual Hour Entries
- In Time Tracking, under the Timesheet Approval tab, you’ll find a list of all the hours logged by employees that you’re assigned to oversee
- In the Status column, all hour entries that are Pending Approval will show at the top of the list with a Pending status
- To approve a single entry, click on the word Approve
- Repeat this process for any additional entries until you’re done!
How to Edit an Employee’s Hour Entry
- In Time Tracking, under the Timesheet Approval tab, you’ll find a list of all the hours logged by employees that you’re assigned to oversee
- In the Status column, all hour entries that are Pending Approval will show at the top of the list with a Pending status
- To edit an entry, find the entry you’d like to adjust and click the Edit button on the right-hand side
- In the Edit window, make any necessary changes to the entry. The adjustments you can make are:
- The date the hours were worked
- Optional: The project the hours are assigned to
- How many hours were worked
- If Payroll is connected: The Type of Hours worked
- An optional note for any further details
- When you’re ready, click Save to update the hour entry in Humi
How to Add an Hour Entry for an Employee
- In Time Tracking, under the Timesheet Approval tab, you’ll find a list of all the hours logged by employees that you’re assigned to oversee
- To add an hour entry on behalf of an employee, click on the Enter Hours for Employees button in the top right corner
- In the next window, fill in the details for the entry
- The employee’s name
- The date the hours were worked
- Optional: The project the hours are assigned to
- How many hours were worked
- If Payroll is connected: The type of hours worked
- An optional note for any further details
- To add multiple entries, click the + Add Entry button in the bottom left
- When you’re finished adding entries, click Save to add them all to Humi
About the Approval Process
If you’re the assigned approver for the hours you’ve entered for this employee, they will be automatically approved when you hit Save. To learn more about approval flows, click here.
