The template provides the questions that will be answered during the review or survey.

Templates are shared between Performance and Surveys, this means that when you create a new template, it will appear in the “Templates” section of both modules.

Only admins have access to the Templates tab within the Performance (or Surveys) module. Unless you have a custom role that has access to managing templates.

Add Name & Description

The first thing you will be asked to do after clicking the “Add Template” button is to input the name and description for your template.

Both the name and the description will appear in the template directory. These fields can then be entered into the search bar to help locate the template and they can also be viewed on the details page of the template.

Edit Questions

After saving the name and description of your new template, you will automatically be taken to the details page of the template. This is where you are able to add questions to the template. Click on the word “Edit” within the “Template Questions” box.

There are five types of questions:

  • Freeform
  • Rating
  • Agree/disagree
  • True/false
  • Multiple choice

Drag and Drop Questions

In order for the questions to be added to the template, you need to drag them from the toolkit on the left side of the screen and then drop them on the template located on the right side. Once you drag and drop a question, it will automatically be saved.

All that's left to do now is to fill out the text field for the question description.

Tip: If you would like to create a new line in the question description, to help space out sentences/paragraphs, move the text cursor to where you want the new line to begin then press the  shift + enter key in combination and it'll create a new line.

Please note, all questions on a template are mandatory, so the employees assigned to the review or survey will be required to answer them otherwise they can't submit it.
