Goals are work-related objectives that can be assigned to employees. Employees will be able to add updates and follow a timeline on the details page of the goal to help the accomplish their task. On that same page there is an up-to-date goal progress tracking that show the progression towards the goal
How to create "Goals"
- In "Performance," select the "Goals" tab click on the "+ Create Goal" button in the top right corner.
When configuring the details of a goal, six inputs exist:
- Start Date
- Due Date
You will be able to locate the goal within the directory by entering the title in the search bar.
There are two types of goals that can be selected: shared goal, and per-employee goal.
A shared goal is a mutual goal between multiple employees. All participants can update information within this goal. A good use for a shared goal would be for departmental goals.
A per-employee goal can be assigned to multiple employees, however, the goal is designed to be an individual goal that each of the employees assigned to the goal must reach. For example, you could create a per-employee goal that is titled “Sell 50k in One Quarter,” and you could assign multiple employees to it; each employee will be expected to sell 50k, it does not mean that all employees must reach the goal of 50k together (this would be a shared goal).
The description should be a brief summary of what the goal entails, however, it is not mandatory to input a description. The description is useful because it'll give your employees insight into what the goal is about, you will be able to see the description on the details page of the goal and most importantly you can use the description in the search bar on the goals page to help locate the goal.
There are seven options to choose from when selecting a frequency: once, daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, and annually.
Once you choose a frequency, it will recur based on the start date you select and the same metric will be used each time the goal recurs.
This is the date that the goal will be sent out to employees.
This is the date that the goal must be completed by. The due date will appear in the top left corner of the first box when you open the details page of the goal. This same box contains the up-to-date progress of the goal, the current status (e.g. in progress), and the description.
When selecting a metric for the goal, there are five options: dollar, percent, number, binary, and milestones.
The option for milestones refers to anything that does not fall into the other categories. An example of a milestone would be something like “Build List” or “Review with Sales Team”.
The selection of employees that can be participants is based on the reporting structure around you, the creator of the goal. Any role within Humi can create a goal.
There are three sections you can choose from when selecting a participant.
- You can choose to make the creator of the goal a participant, so the employee is assigning themselves a goal
- You can also choose from the direct reports of the creator of the goal.
- You can choose the peers of the creator meaning employees who share the same direct reports as the creator
