How to Manage Notifications in your Humi Inbox

Have more questions? Submit a request

When you log in to Humi, the first thing you’ll see is your Humi Inbox and a list of Assigned Tasks. Notifications are sent to your Inbox when key actions across Humi have occurred, such as time off requests, surveys assigned, or other important items.

Admins can change these notification settings in the Company settings.

Unread and Read Notifications

  1. View the most relevant notifications:
At the top of the Inbox, select All or Unread Only
  2. To return a single notification to unread status:
Click the three dots to the right of it and then click Mark as unread.
  3. To mark all notifications as read:
Click the three dots in the upper right of the Inbox and select Mark all as read.

View archived notifications

To view archived notifications, click the three dots in the upper right of the Inbox and select View archived.

Filtering Notifications

Your Humi Inbox can be filtered to show you exactly what you need. You can combine these filters as desired, and they will save across sessions within a single browser.

How to Apply Filters

  1. To apply a filter, click the Filter Icon in the upper right corner of the Inbox.
  2. Scroll through the list and select the desired filter(s).
  3. If filters are applied, you’ll see an indicator on the Filter Icon and a list of the applied filters at the top of the Inbox.

Available Inbox Filters

  • All / Unread Only
  • Date Range: All, Last 7 days, Last 30 days
  • Category: All Categories, Announcements, Benefits, Change Requests, Documents, Feedback, General, Goal, Offer Letter, Performance, Recruiting, Reminder, Review, Survey, Time Off, Time Tracking, and Training.

Only active modules will show

Only the Humi modules enabled on the employee’s account will appear on this list.

Persistent filtering

When you log in to Humi, any filters you applied in your last session will be automatically applied again. If you clear the browser’s cache or change devices/browsers, these filters will be cleared.

How to Remove Filters

Inbox Filters feature a "soft save" function that helps keep your settings in place across sessions. If you want to clear them, there are four ways to remove filters:

  1. To remove a specific filter:
Click the X on the filter’s chip at the top of the Inbox.
  2. To remove a collection of filters:
Click the Filter Icon and select either All Dates or All Categories.
  3. To remove all filters:
You can click the Clear Filters button to the right of the listed filters.
  4. Lastly, all filters will be cleared if you clear your browser’s cache or swap browsers/devices.

Archiving Notifications

Notifications will remain in your Inbox until you decide to archive them. There are two ways to archive notifications:

  1. Archive All Notifications:
In the upper right corner of the Inbox, click the three dots and select Archive All.
  2. Archive a Single Notification:
On the right side of the listed item, click the three dots and select Archive.

Action Status Labels

If a notification has an associated action that you need to take, Humi will display an Action Status so you know what to do. For example, if you have a survey to complete, you will see “Action Required” on the notification.

There are three status labels:

  1. Action required
There is an action that is currently required for you. This could be a time off request that needs approval, a candidate that needs to be hired, a document that needs to be signed, and so on.
  2. Completed
You (or someone else) have completed the action! In most cases, “Completed” will be displayed when you complete the action, but when multiple users can complete the same action, “Completed” will be displayed to all users regardless of who completed it.
For example, imagine there are three admins, and all three of them get notified about a new time off request. If Admin A approves the request, admins A, B, and C will see “Completed” next to the notification.

  3. Unavailable
This status represents situations where an action was once required, but for some reason, this action is no longer available or required. For instance, a time off request was deleted, a survey expired, or you no longer have visibility into a given action.
