6. Events & Logbooks

Next up we’re going to look at how you can keep track of your restaurant’s special events and reservations as they relate to scheduling. The good news is we’ve made it super easy!

Navigation: ‘Scheduling’ Tab, then ‘Events’

Goal: To enter any upcoming events on the Ameego event calendar and consider if you want any book off lockouts for the event. Event will display throughout Ameego's scheduling process and dashboard to serve as a reminder.

  • Add event: Put your cursor over a date on the event calendar and click ‘Add Event’. From there you can add event information such as name, amount of people, location, start and end time, etc.
  • Department book off lockout: Click the department you would like to lockout from being able to request time off during this event.

Ameego's logbooks are an excellent tool to aid your management team in communications and daily reporting. We will show you how to setup your logbooks and create the specific headings of the information that you would like to see logged on a daily basis. Managers can read & write daily log notes in Ameego Manager and have the previous day's notes automatically emailed each morning along with the Week-to-Date report!

Navigation: ‘Intel’ Tab, then ‘Logbooks’

Goal: To setup your Ameego logbook names and headings for the use of your management team to record important notes for each day in Ameego.

Setting up your Logbooks

  • Within the 'Logbooks' tab, click on 'Settings'.
  • Click the plus sign under 'Add New Logbook'. This will create a new template called 'New Logbook'.
  • Click the 'Edit' button beside the name (New Logbook), add your logbook name and click 'Save'.

The next step is to add the headings that you and your team will record daily log notes under. You can have as many headings as you like, but you must have at least one in order to write a note.

  • Put your cursor in the '+ new heading' box, type your heading. Then click the 'Add' button.
  • Repeat this process until you have all the headings needed for your logbook.
  • You can change the order of the headings by clicking on the 'Reorder' button above the headings. Use the up/down arrows to reorder the heading.
  • You can rename a heading by clicking on the 'Edit' button to the right of the heading.
  • You may create another logbook and headings if required. An example of this might be that your location requires separate FOH and BOH logbooks.

Setting up automatic email recipients of log notes & WTD report

Would you like to have the previous days log notes and week-to-date report automatically emailed to you and your managers early each morning? Follow the steps below to set this up.

  1. Navigate to the 'Intel' tab, then click on the 'Reports' sub tab.
  2. Using the drop down box, select the 'Week to Date' report.
  3. Click on the 'WTD email' button located on the upper right.
  4. Observe the list on the left side. These are all the people that have access to Ameego Manager.
  5. Click on any of the people in this list to subscribe them to the Logbooks & WTD email. *If you do not see an email address you will need to add it to the applicable profile in Employee Manager.

Note: If you deactivate any of the users who have access to Ameego Manager (the listing on the left) in Employee Manager, they will automatically be deactivated from the recipient list and will NOT receive the email.

The 'Additional Recipients' section on the right should be reserved for Head Office members or Owners who do not have a profile in your Ameego platform. To use this section, simply type in an email address and click the 'Add' button.
