Understanding Departments & Wages

In Ameego Connect, you will schedule your shifts by department. Department may be called ‘Jobs’ in your POS system. Departments are synced in from your POS system via the POS Match function the same way your employees are and cannot be manually added directly in Ameego. 

The department (job) wages are also synced into Ameego from your POS system via the POS Match function. We bring over the current information from your POS employee profiles when you first install Ameego, and will also sync in any changes you make in the future. The information below will help you understand the processes involved in syncing employees wages and salaries in Ameego.

Employee Wages

Your employees' departments and wages must be programmed in your POS system employee profiles and will sync into the matching employee profile in Ameego. This is an important step as these department wages will be used to cost their scheduled shifts for each department in Ameego. If your employee makes the same wage for 2 different departments, your POS system must have both departments (jobs) and the applicable wage in the employee profile. 

Below is an example of an employee profile that is setup properly to apply the wages for the departments added to this employee. You can add the departments you want your employee to work in Ameego, but you must have those departments (jobs) and wages setup in your POS system to reflect the wages.



Department default wages

You can also set a department default wage in Ameego’s department settings. This can be utilized if an employee's profile does not contain the wage for a department that you may schedule them for from time to time. This is also useful for departments where all employees make the same wage. If an employee profile has a wage of 0.00 for a department, the department default wage will not be applied. This can be used for employees who are on salary, but you want to schedule them for departments that have a department default wage (we will cover more on salaries in the next section).

To set a department default wage, click the setting wheel of the department, click ‘Edit Department’ input the default wage and then click ‘Save Changes’.



Salaried Employees

Ameego cannot sync salaries from your POS system. Salaries can be programmed directly in Ameego in the fixed labour section of your scheduling pages. Another alternative for salaries is to calculate their salary to an hourly wage amount (based on how many hours they are required to work) and input this in their POS employee profile the same way as you do for hourly employees. If you need to reflect salaries in your projected and actual labour in Ameego, one of these two methods must be applied. 

Follow the steps below to input salaries using the fixed labour method in Ameego.

  1. Navigate to the Schedule tab, then click on your last weekly schedule where you have generated a forecast.
  2. Click the ‘edit’ link to the right of the fixed labour value in a department group.
  3. Enter a weekly amount for the salaries in this department group.
  4. Click ‘Save Changes’.
  5. Repeat this for any other department groups you may require.

*The weekly amount of fixed labour you enter here will carry over to the next new weekly schedule in this department group. 

*The weekly amount will be included in the projected and actual labour in all applicable areas/reports in Ameego. The weekly amount will be divided by 7 and used in applicable daily reporting.
